What is the difference between Hydrotherapy and Balneotherapy?
Hydro means “water” and Bal means “bath,” so it is really just semantics. Generally, the term “hydrotherapy” indicates the use of the bath to treat physical ailments, but “Thermal Hydrotherapy” is probably a more accurate term, since the temperature of the water is such an important factor. Balneotherapy generally refers to bathing in mineral waters, whether from natural springs or additives, in order to treat physical ailments. What we recommend is the use of both warm and cool water, plus herbal/mineral additives, so, technically, the Infinity BathTea System is Thermal Balneotherapy, if your high school English teacher really cares.
There are two salts in the Infinity BathTea, Epsom Salts and Natural Sea Salts. Epsom Salts contain Magnesium and Sulfates. Experts cite magnesium for its effect on more than 325 enzymes, orchestrating many of the body’s functions, from muscular and electrical functions to increased energy and the elimination of toxins. A deficiency of magnesium can contribute to heart disease, diabetes, stroke, osteoporosis, arthritis, digestive maladies and chronic fatigue. Due to its ability to relax tense muscles and to enable the brain to bind with naturally occurring serotonin, it produces a calming effect. Sulfates also enhance toxin elimination, as well as increasing nutrient absorption by encouraging production of mucin proteins that line the walls of the digestive tract, and by stimulating the pancreas to generate digestive enzymes. Natural Sea Salts contain an amazing number of elements. Infinity BathTea uses CEARA Sea Salts, which are filtered through a naturally occurring ecosystem (a mangrove area) that removes undesired elements from the water, and thus the salts. A crop can take up to 5 years to harvest.
